From the first meeting held at the Palette Art, artists started communicating via the WhatsApp group; Kouga Art Society and the logo for the Society was presented.
Soon after this the dreaded Lockdown period was thrust upon the unsuspecting livelihood of all fellow South Africans. Many saw the first few weeks as a new holiday, but soon afterwards the initiative of our artist community was put to the test.

A competition was suggested to encourage the creative juices to flow and lighten up the lives of those who could no longer visit for a chat, a coffee or a glass of wine.

And so the Artists in Kouga lived through a period of lockdown, and hopefully a time to reflect. For some it was a time to re-assess life. To re-evaluate the reason for talents, skills and capabilities and to step out of a life of existing to a life of meaning. So we want to say to those who took he challenge, …
